That yes, its that time of the year again, he wants to be stabled every night now.. It only taken me nearly a week of riding a horse thats turned into a complete twonk and that he's been lying flat out in the field too for me to realise he's completely knackered, is starting to get chilly, even though he's rugged and wants his warm comfy stable again. Joy of joys I now have a lovely long winter of mucking out 3 (the two natives arent a fan of staying out either :o), smelling of wee, being covered in straw and trailing poo all over the carpet, oh and not to mention getting some strange looks off the people at work because of the smell :o:p, to look forward to. Hey ho if I have 3 happy furries thats all that matters...

Mine haven't asked yet but are not exactly subtle either. They stand by the gate in line ready for it to be opened then rush straight in! I don't even have to catch them they just put themselves to bed thank you very much I just have to wander up behind closing the gates and shutting stable doors!

Lol, how sweet (only 'cos I don't have to do the mucking out :D).

Mine aren't getting the option at the moment. We have stables, but we moved yards to get LC somewhere he could live out 24/7, so they aint coming in lol :D

Will think of you as I roll over for that hour's extra sleep in my snuggly bed :eek::p:D

Your lucky you only have to have the winter of that...my oldie will stay out for about 5nights over the summer for the rest of time he wants to be in. He is now waiting at 4.30 AHH to come in which is wayy to early yet at this rate he will be in 24/7 soon if he got his way!!

Mine are wintering out as well, poor things :)
The shetland is already preparing himself for winter, and has sprung himself a rather generous covering of hair, almost over night!

If my boys had their way they would be in every night too!! They spend the majority of the summer out, but come in for a night every few days otherwise they get grumpy. The TB is a complete wuss, but admittedly he does drop weight and condition easily, so its better that he comes in over winter, otherwise he's hard work to build back up. The shetland hates getting wet (even with a rain sheet on) and will stand at the gate violently shaking and becomes a pain in the ass to handle. The only one that isnt that bothered is the exmoor, but again does enjoy coming in to a warm bed, so he just tends to follow the crowd.

Mine wanted to come in yesterday too. Bossy beasts. They won and I have two mucky stables to look forward do when I get home from work. Joy!

Mine will be statying out as long as possible. At least until the refurbishment of my sitting room if finished as most of the furniture is in one of the stables!

Mine to have demanded to be in overnight, I always bring in to feed/groom/feet etc, my mare is now refusing to go back out, I can literally do tug of war on the leadrope trying to get her back out the stable door, she just digs her heels in, stretches her neck and refuses to budge, don't you just love em !! :D

Shy goes into his stable for his light supper, and is getting harder and harder to get out again (to go to the fatty paddock).|As in literally fall asleep in the corner, lower lip gaping.

He'd never been in till last year, and I think I've made a huge rod for my own back now  But tbh, it lets his feathers dry out, and I am a softy - he does love a nice thick straw bed, and he's happy to be the only one in too. Sad thing is, he's staying out until further notice, I won't be bullied (yet). :D

Native ?
