Hi all,

I am asking for help to find a new horse box, list of requrements below preferably around.the 10-15k mark, or lower if it needs updating.

Needed:-
13/14tonn
Loo
Full living (dont mind dated as can update
Min stalled for three but would like four
No tack lockers in the horse area
Daf or scania.....no Iveco
No older than J reg
Would prfer Tilt cab but it seems harder to find in the bigger ones so as long as we have access to the engine

Have found a few to look at but wondered what the collective power of HHO could find🙂

There are plenty on Facebook Marketplace?
I had a DAF a few years ago & I sold it & bought a MAN & they are as different as chalk and cheese. The DAF was underpowered & rust started getting into the cab. The MAN I bought had a Tristar body made of aluminium, partitions were also aluminium and I had an unladen weight of 5.2 tons giving me a payload of 2.3 tons. I could legally carry three horses in the lorry & would be within weight. It was a 7.5 ton box, it had cruise control & the engine was 180hp. It pulls like a train. The MAN lorries are incredibly well built & being part of the VW group they are over engineered, every thing is quality. Give then a thought.

Thank you. We have found one.

Dads an HGV mechanic so he will be fixing it and he prefers to work on Dafs. Our current oje has a payload of 2.5t but no way would we have three decent horses on with a full tank of fuel, tack and people and our horses are around the 700kilo and 620kilo mark. Its a decent length at 18ft as well. It will be a shame when we sell it as its been a good truck that has never let us down and the all horses have travelled well in it.
