I have a sneaking suspicion my mare's owner is going to want her back at the end of our loan (next month I think, or may be August).....

So, starting to tentatively look around for something. I didn't have to do any replying to adverts when I got my mare, she belongs to a friend of a friend. When I put my boy up for loan Horsemart was the best site, but there's not much on there besides happy hackers really.

Which websites do you think are best for finding something for loan? Ideally looking for something 15hh-16.2hh, don't mind sex (although I think I am more of a mare person now!!), age immaterial as long as sound. My ideal would be something that needs a quieter life that I can do RC-type stuff on. It would need to be something sound to jump, as would love to do some BSJA (only little BSJA though!) eventually. I appreciate these sorts of horses don't come up for loan often, which is why I'm so lucky to have the horse I have ATM.

All suggestions welcome. I've had a quick look on the usuals - NFED, Horsemart, Horsequest. Or if anyone knows someone with a nice horse to loan, please shout!!

Thanks

I'd try going down the word of mouth route again - it worked before and does tend to be the best way.

Fingers crossed.

Cheers. My YO did ask me a month or so ago if I wanted another horse on loan as she knew of someone with an eventer that had lost interest (the rider, not the horse!) but they didn't want to sell yet. I've text her to ask her if she can find out whether he's still for loan..... fingers crossed!

But fingers are more crossed that the owner doesn't want my current horse back as she's a superstar, have learnt so much and having so much fun with her!!
