I took on a mare last year that had been rescued from France her and her foal were going to slaughter, she came more wild than you can imagine alot of hard work went in and she she has turned out a really nice trusting mare, people cant believe the difference and how much she has come on, we backed her last summer and were now hacking out, we had a day at the beach and have done our first pleasure ride and cross country event!!!
With her progressing so well I am very curious to find out about her history but not getting very far and would like as many ideas/avenues to try.
She did not come with a passport but was mirochipped her microchipping was done in saint jean le viere in France 7 months before she came to England. This was as much info as she came with Ive been able to contact the person who imported her and they have been able to tell me she origianally came from Spain then on to the French farm but the French farmer has now retired and the farm closed down.
I am grateful for this small piece of info Ive got alot of my friends who have bough horses in uk cant get this much info on there horses history, but wondered if anyone has any ideas. I contacted the Haras Nationaux which is the database all horses in France should be registered on they should have been given her microchip carbon yellow copy, they havnt got back to me and dont think they will, with her being microchipped in France I dont think Spain will have any info on her and cannot find any spanish horse reunite sites. Oh and ive also tried typing in the microchip number into the microchip sites and this hasnt brought back any results.
