To those that rent grazing land off someone else to keep your horses on.

How did you find out that the land was available to rent? Did you see it advertised or did you go knocking on doors of local landowners/farmers etc?

How much do you pay per week/month to rent the land?

Are you asked to do anything specific to maintain the land?

I'd be interested to hear your different stories on this one!

18 years ago, we knocked on a door - and the rest is history, still in the same field...
We have cheap rent, we are lucky. If we ask to have it harrowed and rolled they will, but we manage everything else, like the upkeep of the fencing.
One rule that we have to adhere to, we are not allowed to let it get very poached, so we are very clever with electric tape!!

Im like you,I have very cheap grazing too.He lets me do as I please.I use electric fence too. Have the field to myself.
You should go ask around to see if theres grazing available!!

I pay £17 per week in worcester -there is so much grazing that we dont have to hay in the field til at least January (unless it floods as we are near the river) a stable is 20-25 depending on size. Its a riding school as i didnt fancy going it totally alone, i like the fact that lots of people are there for advice and help.
