I was wondering, those of you who have others ride your horses, how did you find someone you could trust?

I used to have a lovely lady who would come and ride with me, the mare I had at the time was a handful and she was great with her, I trusted the lady completely and she was welcome to treat her as her own and do whatever she wanted with her, however the lady was travelling quite far to come to ride and has now found a loan horse of her own.

I do miss having someone to ride out with, the mare has gone now and I have a lovely youngster who is a star in every way but I feel like he isnt getting enough because I dont have anyone to ride out with during the week. I sometimes go up the yard with another lady, but she does nothing with her horse.

My OH can only ride at the weekend so that leaves me doing everything for both horses during the week, Im just wondering how do you find someone you can trust to ride with you?

I have at least 10 weeks off work starting from Monday

We are advertising for a sharer for my sisters pony (as she is pregnant...my sister that is, not the horse). I guess we will give any potential sharers plenty of trials when we are around and judge them on their visits. Anyone who is right will get a trial arrangement and then if everyone is happy we will put something semi-perm in place.

It helps that we are on a busy yard so others will be there to keep an eye when we are not.

I guess its just a case of finding someone then building up a trusting relationship.

That would be fab!

I just want someone to hack out with really, I dont want to advertise for a sharer because thats not what I want. There are no stable duties and I dont want a contribution, just someone to ride with a few days a week

Seriously, I'd be happy to. Most of my friends work full time so I'd be glad of the company!

Similarly I need to help ride my horses - I have a great lady who helps with the horses but she has just been diagnosed with arthritis and don't think she will be riding for a while. Anyone in the Warks/Oxon area fancy riding a 16.3 ID and a 15.3 TB.....?
