Fingers crossed and best vibes for Sara Cox’s lovely mare Nelly

I wasn’t aware she had a horse, I never really hear much from her any more, where is she on the radio?

I really used to like Sara Cox though when she was doing whatever she did 🙄
Everything x’d for her, very professional to carry on and not be an emotional wreck as I might be!

Oh no - I saw on her IG page she was down in Devon with her last weekend so that's a shock. She rocks up at some of the sponsored rides around here at times and always gives a shout out to the organisers which is nice. She must be so worried

R2 between 4 and 7pm Monday to Friday.

She often mentions Nelly, hope she pulls through.

I used to see posts about Nelly when I followed SC on twitter. She liveries on a yard near where I used to keep my horse and I often recognise exactly where she is when she posted pictures of their hacks. I avoid X now so had lost touch

I was listening when the told everyone. She said she doesn't have a job where she could just leave and catch up later, but the mare was in good hands. How she managed to do her show, given how cheerful she always sounds, was impressive. I hope Nelly will get well soon.

Sara always seems to be the person who gets the crap headlines too. She was on air for the Queen's death, Steve Wright's death and someone else's - her professionalism is second to none!

I only heard about Nelly being ill because Sara mentioned her early on in yesterday’s show.

In addition to comments already mentioned Sara said that Nelly was ‘a bit colicky’, had had rectal exams and was off to the RVC. I think that she also said that she was off to visit her in horsepital straight after the show bearing polo mints.

Fingers firmly crossed that it was a simple spasmodic colic that will respond very promptly to treatment. Colic is so scary.

Really sorry to read about Nelly. I am a great fan of Sara Cox, I don’t listen to the radio much but she has a Flatcoated Retriever as well as her horse so I follow her and have some great photos of her out riding with dog accompanying her. Brings back memories when I did the same.
