Fingers and toes crossed that my boy's blood test comes back clear later so i can get on with working him and building up his hillwork to help his locking patella.

He was diagnosed with a virus 2 weeks ago, so has had rest since and then a re-test today

Hope all is ok!

blood test results returned last night

BAD NEWS: No improvement at all in the 12 days, so the virus has taken its toll on him and taking him longer to recover than an average mild virus.

Neutrophils 50%
Eosinophils 5%
Lymphocytes 41%
Monocytes 4%

Another horse on the yard was blood tested and she returned higher white blood cell count than him. Understandable really as looking back i suspect my horse started around 4-5 weeks ago with his lethargic symptoms, and he has travelled in the trailer with the other horse a few times also.

Vet said that they have probably picked it up at a show, and there is a lot of "viruses" around at the moment!

Advise is to carry on with the Ecinacea and the Propell and rest. Re-test blood in around 3 weeks or so.

:(
