He has recovered well from his acute lymphangitis. He had blood taken today to see if he has a virus too...I find out tomorrow morning...Fingers crossed x Maybe I'll get my horse back becuase over the last weeks/months I feel like I own a elderly sad horse not a sharp competition prospect.

Glad to hear his legs are going down - I hope you find out what is at the root of his problems and that it is something simple and treatable.

I really hope it is too...Specialy after reading Forrest story in Local Rider. I was watching him today thinking what a stunning horse he is...How promising he was looking before he lost his spirit.

Im glad you are having him blood sampled for a virus, if he is as listless as you describe. Usually a virus is fairly straight forward to remedy.
Good luck Dermot and FMN

I have to watch my horses diet as he easily gets this and if I give him anything to high in protein his legs blow up[ my coloured in siggie] If he starts to go off I give him a bran mash with epsom salts and try to catch it before it gets too bad.He is best on a high fibre/ oil diet definately nothing like redigrass as that really affects him but he can take alfa a and calm and condition and unmollassed sugar beet

A friend's horse had a virus last Autumn after having sinus surgery, he had a few months just being out in the field and is now back to normal. Fingers crossed for Dermot.
