Hello, i put my post above. Not good news, he passed away
. He got a twisted gut in the end and liver failure. We think perhaps the colic was brought on by something else, my mum said she thought he was moving a bit funny behind a couple of days ago.
Anyhow it was all his decision, he wanted to go.
Do u know not once did he sweat up or thrash around. The vet said hes fitter than most horses half his age and his heart rate and temperature didnt even rise. Thats why I think it was his decision.
He never had a lame day and on reflection we are glad he went while he was still at the top of his game. Hes event fit, still has stud holes in and his mane was pulled 2 days ago.
He wasnt the sort of horse that would have tolerated being less than perfect and im glad i never got to see that day.
