Fireworks/strange sounds soundtracks

Has anyone used these to get their puppies used to strange noises? How did they react? My old dog was horribly gun/firework shy and noise reactive so I thought I’d start puppy out straight away with these strange sounds tapes (only on phone, no big booming speakers yet!). He isn’t remotely bothered. Just continues to play or sleep or whatever he was doing. I’m hoping this is a good sign for the future.

So far I think I’ve got the jackpot with this chap, he is charming everyone he meets, doesn’t have accidents in the house (only couple have been my fault for not paying attention), good with the cats, stays round at the neighbours without any fuss when I go to do the horses. Hasn’t really put a paw wrong yet (well, except for jumping on sofa when the cat was lying on it, doesn’t quite understand why cats are allowed on furniture but puppy’s aren’t! ...I can understand the confusion!)
 
Our old greyhound was petrified of fireworks, gunshot, etc. and would tremble violently. We used a cd to de-sensitise her and following the instructions to play it almost inaudibly at first and gradually building up, it seemed to work quite well. Until bonfire night. (For Bonfire night read mid-October to mid-January!) Then we were back to square one. The fireworks these days are just so loud we did wonder whether she could feel vibration from them which she was afraid of, as much as the noise. Funnily enough, (at the risk of being shot down for being a bad mummy) after following all the usual rules to a 't' the only thing we found worked, was instead of ignoring the situation, was to just give her a little reassurance that all was well, and she was fine.
 
I played the cd when I had a litter of puppies and as far as I am aware none of them are noise phobic, certainly the girl I kept doesn't bat an eyelid at fireworks guns etc. Our lancashire heeler is petrified of fireworks and other bangs, I have tried playing the cd in an attempt to de sensitise him but he doesn't react to it at all, so it obviously gives off a slightly different sound to the real thing. I would definitely use it if I had a puppy in the house again though.
