I'm very proud of my boy this week. He went to his first show on Saturday for this year. Which was extra exciting and nerve racking as last year we only had a couple due to riding injurys.
He came 2nd in his first class as an inhand m&m (out of 2 horses
) and then was due to do ridden m&m with a friend of mine who is a better rider (i'm useless
) but due to a cliant being late she didn't get there on time so I had to jump on myself. Totally petrifeied I entered the ring and all went well he trotted and cantered around with all the other horses some thing I struggle to get him to do as i'm scared he wont stop. He did a small rear in the line up but I stayed on and then settled right down. The idivdual show didn't go well as I struggled to get him to canter but he really started to behave him self and was brilliant for the rest of the class and ended up coming 5th 
I was so chuffed with him and myself for actually doing it
By this time my friend had turned up but he had already done his class so instead of doing a clear round with him she thought it would be a good idea to do a working open hunter pony.
Not really expecting much in the way of placing as hes a very hairy cob but thought the experince would do him good and he loves jumping. The jumps were 2'9 and my OH is thinking about disowning me as he thinks the horse will just plough the course up
and is totally out classed.
So I was rather shocked when the judge pulled him out and gave him his first ever Red rosette. He's never done a working hunter class before and only ever been show jumping once and the jumps were smaller.
