first Advanced at the weekend..jacket question

I'm doing my first advanced at the weekend, its an unaff but I don't have a tail coat yet as I am trying to not look like all/the gear no idea!!but now I'm worried I will look out of place. Do you think its OK to go in my normal short jacket or shall I get my backside on to eBay? !?

Its absolutely fine to wear your short jacket, the rules say either, so dont worry. Personally, I've always done advanced classes in my short jacket, I just felt it made the tails more important to save them for PSG.

i did my advanced in my short coat as didnt have my tails at that point. I think plenty of people do the same so you will be fine
