So I took my lovely girl to our first affiliated dressage this weekend and attempted two prelim classes!
She travelled beautifully which is unusual for her as she never seems to find her feet in the trailer! Once we got there she had a nice relaxing time eating her haylage in the trailer as I needed to call tests for a friend in the medium class. Eventually it was our turn so I got her ready and started to warm up! she warmed up really nicely, she felt nice and soft and forward and was feeling nice and enthusiastic!
So we were called for our first test.......and my test caller had not arrived......no worries I thought, I think I remember the test! I managed to remember the whole test with no failures and my girl felt really nice during, except fpr the bl00dy steward at the door who kept opening and shutting it to see if I was finished..which scared my girl to no end....then on the FWLR the steward decided to ask me if I was finished yet!!!!!!! Again scaring my girl! but I managed to get her back on side and finished with a second place and a 70.2%!!! Very good pony!
The second test however did not go so well!!! Again she warmed up beautifully but just as we were waiting to go into the arena the heavens opened and there was a torrential chucking it down of rain! Now normally this would have been fine with my girl, however there was an old metal drainpipe in the arena which now sounded roughly like someone continually shooting a very large gun! Que my girl doing beautiful work on the right hand side of the school but dancing sideways and spooking on the left!
I couldn't be mad at her, she was obviously scared but the work in the middle felt lovely and we still managed to get a 66.8% and a 4th place! Good pony!
So all in all I am very pleased with my girl, not so pleased with the behaviour of the steward or the weather!!!!
Time to plan our second affiliated competition!
