I thought BS brought out a rule a while ago that venues can only charge for First Aid if they have had to pay for First Aiders to attend their show i.e. companies like Sharmans ?

I didnt get charged this weekend for it. The venue has stopped bringing in a first aider and uses one of the trained staff. Another local venue does the same but still charges. I hadnt heard anything about it so never queried it

It could be argued that 1st Aid training is expensive and they need to make that cost back, also the member of staff could be paid overtime for that day.

If they pay the member of staff to be there then technically they pay for first aid cover. But yes - if there is no paid for cover then there should be no first aid fee. I suspect some venues are more liberal in their interpretation of paid than others.

That's what I thought, everything at this particular venue is more expensive than almost anywhere else.
