This one day First Aid course has been specifically designed for Horse Riders, and anyone involved with horses. The course will deal with all types of situations, and give you the confidence to manage a casualty until the Emergency Services arrive ~ this could be a while, due to being in a remote area, especially the villages, and stable yards around Kent.
Many of you will have encountered an accident at some point during your time with horses, probably very minor, but would YOU know what to do in the event of a fellow rider having a serious accident/fall.
You will learn the necessary skills and knowledge required to deal with most common types of First Aid Emergencies encountered around horses.
Course content
First Aid Introduction
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Recovery Position
Primary Survey & Secondary Survey (DRAB and head to toe survey)
Recognition & management of
Minor & Major Bleeding
Shock
Crush Injuries
Spinal Injuries
Head Injuries
Limb Injuries
Hypothermia/Hyperthermia
Heart Attack
Run by qualified and professional trainers, from Fire Service/Paramedic backgrounds, on a working stable yard for real life scenarios.
Certificated for three years
