I have all of the previous as well as a tube of sedalin, danillon, bute, polutices, vet wrap, nappies (for poultices), a small tub of sudacrem, a tourniquet (had accident with horse that had bad bleed) and an instant ice pack. I also have ice boots in the freezer at the yard as do quite a few other people also and a red and white tube that stands vertical of green stuff (sorry forgot name but very well known for putting on small cuts/grazes). Most important of all I have a small first aid book in my kit in case I ever find myself on my own and not quite sure what to do (if anything) whilst waiting for the vet. Also make sure your first aid kit goes where your horse goes, ie I leave mine in my towing car which I always have with me when I visit the horse, so if I am at a show I have something there. I also have (probably rather foolishly in this day and age and I hope I never get pulled over by police) a penknife with wire cutter on, as a previous horse got his leg stuck in a barbed wire fence years ago. I always take the knife, a spare bandage, a whistle, my mobile and my tourniquet with me when I go on a pleasure ride as I have been party to and also witnessed terrible accidents on pleasure rides. I also make sure I input the organisers mobile phone number in my phone prior to the ride. I am very well organised and some people might laugh at my pessimism but believe you me, it is really very terrible if you are ever in the position where you feel helpless because you don't have the right tools or equipment in an emergency.
