so im starting to expand my first aid kit for both myself and my horse as you mever know whats going to happen so i was wondering:
what do you have in your first aid kit?
what products do you recommend?

thank you 😊

Top of my list are vetrap bandages that stick to themselves, poultices as they are good for temporary wound dressings as well, Hibiscrub, cotton wool. (Guess what's been wrong with my horse?)

Vet wrap, purple spray, animalintex, nappies, duct tape, salt, magnesium sulphate past and also epsom salts, good sharp scissiors, anti-histamines, melolin sticky pads, cotton wool, gamgee,

Great list and the only thing that I have in mine to add is scissors and a head torch, and one of the free standing torches as When my flipping horse hurts him self he is in the middle of a dark wet and windy field. Hoof pick and knife has also come in handy with baler twine too. Add in the kitchen sink and you should be about ready for everything! and hope you never have to use. In mine I also have a pair of pliers as once we had to cut off some wire off someones horse and they stayed in the box.

Human one has

Plasters (different sizes)
Pain killers
bandages
Sling
pressure bandage
one of OH’s field dressing kits! (Might well be out of date!)
savlon
Antiseptic wipes
Towels
bottles of water The type with drinking top great for washing out wounds human and equine.

Both also have first aid gloves

I really rate those little pods of sterile saline, are they called steripods or something? You can warm them in hot water and then snap off the end. Brilliant for irrigating and flushing wounds, grazes etc.
