First Aid Kits

A couple of the posts ive read recently have got me thinking ...

What do you lot keep in you First Aid kits?
Are vets are first port of call?
As an equine community do we use the help/support of others as much as that of professionals?
Do we self-diognose for our horses as we do for ourselves?

I am pretty confident I can deal with quite a wide range of injuries, and have done with no ill effects over the years - but I also know when I am out of my depth and stiches or medication is required.

BUT I have the added advantage that Yard owners partner is a horse vet

Also agree with the watcher!!Over the years i have got less panicky(when i first got my boy i was dreadful,worried about everything,lol),now i know him inside out i know when a vet is needed,i have pretty good knowledge and understanding when it comes to first aid but also have very knowledgeable friends and that helps no end!(however if i am unsure of ANYTHING the vet is called straight away!!

I worked in an equine vets for a long time, and am pretty confident with most things.

But will always call vet for anything major ~ no hesitation.
