First aid, warm water, no electric on yard

Nothing stopping you using a dozen or more if necessary - I buy them by the hundred. They’re easier to target into a small wound too.

Use by date is a bit irrelevant- once it’s open, it’s not sterile.

'Im not talking about the use by date, that can be years in the future. I'm talking about the instructions for use once opened and contact lens saline is 3 months once opened.

They also come with nice pointy nozzles.

I’ve got leucillin for cleaning minor wounds, used to use Hypocare.

Lots of saline pods in lorry snd at yard. Very handy as can use to squirt to clean wounds. Also have bottle of sterile saline and a sealed drip bag of saline. (And a kettle but don’t use it for getting sterile salt water).

When I had no electricity used a small portable gas stove for heating water. Now sits in my lorry.

A small generator would be handy. You can pick them up new for a couple of hundred quid and they will sit unused without issue till you need them. Gives you options for using power tools for repairs and clipper etc
There used to be one - they took the fence down with the previous owners horses in the field to steal it🙄 I'm pretty sure I've had the odd uninvited visitor so I'd rather not give them anything valuable to steal.

There's some really great ideas on here. I'm going to take up most of them 🙂 Thank you. I hadn't even thought about tubing for colic .....

The pink Princess has a crusty nose this morning but fortunately the big hole is high enough up her nostril that it's staying pretty clean. She's feeling sorry for herself - antibiotics won't help her gut - and is being vile to the ponies.

On the plus side when I apologised to the vet for her weight he said she looks like an unfit horse coming out of summer and he's seen much worse. I'll take that 😜

Yes, that’s for use as contact lens solution, not for use cleaning wounds. As I say, once open, it’s no longer sterile.
