Purchased my own clippers this year as i have taken a cob on loan who is hogged and regularly needs her legs trimming. Attempting a full clip on her and a trace on my boy. Luckily getting an expert to oversee as i am anticipating problems with the lines but fingers crossed!! Think i may have extreme arm ache by the time i finish, takes me ages just to do legs!!! Cant wait for no more sweaty horses though!

Good luck!!

At least the cob will be easy - just take it all off!!

Good luck.
If its bad weather tomorrow Im going to clip too but Im useless with the line at the top of the fore legs as I think it tickles my boy and he starts to twitch his muscle... hence my lines end up lower and lower

thanks s/u thats what i thought! Just keeping half a face so hoping it wont be lop sided!!
I cant even draw a straight line Louby so god knows what i'll be like clipping one. My first attempt at hogging ended up too low but luckily it grew out pretty quick! Must be a nightmare if yours twitches!! thats one think i can count on - give them a haynet and no involuntary twitching, they are both good monkeys! good luck with yours too!

Thanks.
Im self taught so dont know if its technically correct but I clip my lines first then clip the rest... a bit like colouring n doing a border first then filling it all in

just use chalk to get your line thats what i do but then ive got to use pink chalk as its all that shows up on him being grey out of the colours i had

All done eventually after a bit of a nightmare start. needed to use the end empty stable nearest the electrics but found it not to be empty as someone was storing straw in it. Cleared all that out, got Laser (my username is that of my boy!!) had a friend to supervise with the lines and away we went. Within 2 minutes Laser's breathing had gone wheezy and i had to get him out rapidly. Despite being cleared out and the door open his copd started up because straw had been in the stable. Attempted outside then it started raining so put the boy away half done with a fleece on while i went to buy a longer extension lead.
Arrive back at the yard with extra long lead, set it all up, go to get the boy and he's sweat up in the fleece!!!
Clipped Dolly whilst Laser was drying and she looks fab, took the lot off (inc mane & legs) so was fairly straight forward.
Got the boy back out when he dryed off set off again and the blades went!!!! He was mostly done just had to get a friend to finish off his belly and i jibbed out of doing their heads so got friend to give them half a head each.
Louby thats how my friend taught me to do it today to clip the lines first as Laser had a trace. Great way of doing it!
Blades are going off to get sharpened does anyone know where i can send them? Will take some pics of the neds tomorrow, both look very smart after a dodgy start but over all very pleased. (just got arm ache!!!)
