WHAT a stressful day!!! Tomorrow is our riding school's BIG show. We have a couple of smaller ones during the year, but August bank holiday is THE one, and we can't wait.
So we thought we'd really posh Dolly up - done all our bathing, trimming, everything. So had a go at black hoof paint. First time.
I didn't actually do bad painting it on. Prepped her hooves first by giving them a good scrub and brush, making sure no bits or anything on them. Like a good decorator!
Quite pleased actually. Avoided getting any on her legs (plenty on me and the floor!!!) and we were looking good.
I sat back on my heels to admire my handywork. Dolly decided it was a good idea to have a REALLY good itch - first she rubbed one hoof on the back of one leg, then the other.

So she ended up with two black socks.

Then the heavens opened.
Eventually managed to scrub it off her legs, me, daughter, the floor, the grooming box.........the list goes on.
NEVER AGAIN!!! That is all.
ps everyone, please send good luck to Daughter and Dolly for tomorrow!!! I'm on the wine after the day I've had, but you can share my ben and jerrys if you want!!!
