Here is the story of my season: 3 dressage errors of course, 7 XC detours, 1 missed SJ fence and an elimination for doing the metre steps instead of the 80. It is basically a comedy of errors! But hey we had fun. I had about as many faults from going wrong as I did from the dressage tests!

From Ambers point of view she jumped 5 clear rounds XC!!

The good news is that next season I am going to be running over courses I already know. And I have learnt I need to walk the course LOTS OF TIMES. And I have confidence that the dressage will improve significantly. 2018 is not even over yet and I just can't wait for 2019!!

well done, you should be very proud of yourself ( and your horse !) It will come together. It was our first season too, ive loved every minute of it, and cant wait for next year. We started and finished the season at kelsall, it was great to see how much my mare had come on. The first one in the year she had a refusal at the bank, so we put some effort into getting her confident with them. We all held our breath as she headed to it on sunday, and fair play she flew down it. We gave her that big of a cheer the commentators box heard us . Roll on 2019 !

well done, sounds like you had a fab first season and really enjoyed it. I like reading the updates for something to look forward to when I ever get to the point I'm ready to event :)

Well done AE, but you can't do a review without pics 🤣

Fiona

Never need much of an excuse for pics!!

Congratulations on a fab first season! You know I'm a massive Amber fan, so I can't wait to read your adventures next year :D

Is there any way that you could have Amber learn the course for you? :p
Or you'll have to get proficient at strategically placing your daughters at key places that you may go off piste.

I find your posts (and lots of others) really inspirational. Hoping that maybe next year I will be able to do my own BE report with Koko!

You look like such a great partnership, MASSIVE well done!

Thanks that's a lovely thing to say. I have made SOOOOO many mistakes this season but hopefully we will learn from them and do a bit better next year.

Now that's a good idea! They can hold up Neon THIS WAY signs and arrows!!

But then you would get eliminated for outside assistance!

I can't really offer any help with the not getting lost - it sounds like you're doing everything right in terms of course walking etc. If it's a decent viewing course, perhaps see if there's time to position yourself and watch a few go round? (thinking Kelsall here - might not work at places like Somerford)

Feel very chuffed to have actually seen a HHO horse in real life now :D You were both fab to watch. Onwards and upwards next year!
