I am hoping to do my first BE with my horse this season, only an 80.

But I want to have a good round, so want to chose a XC course that would be a good introduction! I am under no illusion we will be in with placings, but to have a good confidence building round would be amazing.

We are on the Devon/Cornwall boarder. I had played with the idea of doing Lauceston as that is literally down the road, but their XC is tricky and they don't let people school over it much in the Summer. I did their unaffiliated 70 last year and it has a number of fences to catch you out.

So out of, Pontispool, Bicton, Port Elliot (if they even do a later season event) & Treborugh where would people recommend?

In terms of when, it would be towards the back end of the season, after her has a few more unaffiliated runs under his belt.

Look on the Shoestring Eventing page/blog. The lady who writes this is also from the southwest and records all her training and competitions. There is a photographic record of nearly all cross country courses. It is an interesting read as well.
