Myself and Gump went down to RAF Cranwell for the Festival of Equitation at the weekend. There were over 150 entries so this was a big affair. I've had the horse a year and he came to me as a very green 7 year old who could not walk, trot and canter in the school and would not even be led over a pole. So we decided to go and attempt the 65 cm SJ and prelim 14 at our first "big show".

The SJ went well until fence 9 where he decided he didn't like the double but he jumped everything else, including a very narrow yellow fence without issues. We were technically eliminated due to fence 9 but allowed to finish the course to finish on a high.

And then onto the dressage, he was very tired by this point and starting to get grumpy and was leaning on my hands and lost impulsion but we still came away with a respectable 60.57% for our second ever attempt at Prelim.

I apologise for the quality of the photos, they are all stills from a video. I appreciate my riding isn't the prettiest but I'm just really proud of him for having come so far!

Thank you. I think it's the best he's ever gone! Which is amazing considering how alien everything was to him!
