I dont think I have ever had so much FUN !

I went out with the Cheshire farmers drag hunt on their newcomers day. I was a little nervous as I was on my own but was made to feel very welcome. My horse, Charlie had apparantly been before but had no idea how she would be.
I very bravely decided to stick to a snaffle as she has was very good when I took her on the fun ride in it and it paid off as she was super fab! She stood still inbetween runs and didn't move until asked, was fine with horses galloping past her, never ran off with me and stopped when asked. I even had people commenting on how good she was so not bad for our first time!

It was, by all accounts quite eventful with ambulances and vets having to come out but I never saw any of that which was good as it may have put me off! The only thing I saw which did worry me slightly was when we first set off a horse galloped flat out past me the rider then had to bail out but she was wearing one of those inflatable body protectors. Did make me laugh as we hadn't gone out of the first field!

So I'm going to subscribe and try and go out regularly and hopefully by the end of the season I'll be hopping hedges with the best of them :)

hopefully a pic of us at the start (if it works!)

Ok, I'm jealous!! (quote:She stood still inbetween runs and didn't move until asked, was fine with horses galloping past her, never ran off with me and stopped when asked quote)it sounds like you had great fun, if you ever need a more 'challenging ' ride - swap horses with me - please!

....I'm still trying to get my arms back to their original length, they have been stretched by a few inches after the last time I went out!!

ok. not very good at posting pics am I :) never mind.

Thanks Hermangerman but I may decline the offer! We will see how she is next time. She may remember how much fun it was. She is normally a very very sensitive horse to ride so I think (fingers crossed) we may have found her 'thing'

Well, thats you hooked for life I reccon. But remember there will always be better horses and better riders, dont put pressure on your self to do everything they do. Learn to read a fence at a distance, Know you horse Know the country and Know your self. You can always try bigger fences next time too.

Wasn't it a great day?!?!?! Do come again - th annual sub is only £50 so you may as well take that out and then the cap is only £25 for any day you want to come along.

I'm not out tomorrow but if you come the week after do say "hi" - I'm the middle aged tall slim female on the 17 hand black horse with the big ears - Radar!
