Very excited to be writing my first comp report for Lottie. Very low key little show at our yard... Intro B.
The warm up was in the tiny little school down at the main yard, so as we're stabled at a separate yard 200 yards up the road we warmed up there. Not the best warm up to begin with she was trying to jump into canter in every corner. Think she may have noticed there was something up what with being bathed and plaited. Settled after a bit though!!
OH turned up with jacket and stock (I left it by the back door!!) so popped that on (with a bit of an argument about whether my stock looked ok, as OH has no idea what it should look like. Sorted that by taking a photo and showing me... I snapped at him so decided I must be nervous!!!) and then we wandered down to main yard. I let her have a bit of a look at the arena and was then told I could go in if we wanted as they were running early. So in we went...
Lottie has always been a little spooky in the big arena and this morning was no exception. First obstacle... Plastic trees in white plant pots. Let her have a sniff, decided it wasn't edible, "that's ok mum I'll trot on..."
"Whoa mum there's a horse in the field next to the arena" cue spook to the right... Have a look "oh he's ok I'll trot on..."
Two strides later "hang on mum there's a lady there with a camera... She might eat me... Oh no she's ok I'll trot on..."
"Aarrrggghhhh that speaker wasn't there yesterday....." Cue huuuuge spook to the right and me going flying up her neck. Just as I thought I was coming off she stopped. Got myself back into the saddle gave her a pat and we set off round the arena waiting for the beep to go in... Expecting a terrible test...
Well she was awesome!!!!!!! No getting strong and against the hand, no trying to skip into canter, no spooking, nice free walk and kept her rhythm in the stretchy trot circle. One slightly dodgy upwards transition with a bit of tension and she stepped slightly to the right in halt, but otherwise it was lovely!!!
Then she was a fab girl and gave my daughter a ride back up to the top yard being totally chilled and cute.
One of my friends came up with the test sheets and we'd only blooming WON with 70%!!!!! We got a BD ticket and a bag of treats for Lottie as well a nice big red frilly!!!!!
So thrilled with her. She tried so hard and apart from nearly dumping me at the start she was perfectly behaved!!!
Love my Lottie pony so much!!
No ridden pics as they're still on the camera, which is my FIL's and we don't have the cable, but here's one from just before!!!
