first dressage test...

...and probably last!! I think i have lost my mind !!

I have tried everything with my pony except dressage so its about time i atleast tried! There is a non aff dressage comp coming up the yard adjacent to ours in 8 weeks time, so I am going to have a bash at the walk and trot (trot is our worst pace, goodo!!)

I have got her going ok-ish in a happy mouth fulmer with a peanut shaped lozenge - is this bit allowed ??

i cant believe i cant use a martingale or grackle. argh!

The test has trot a 3 loop serpentine on both reins which is my ultimate worst thing to do on my mare so i am going to ask my instructor for help

I haven't done dressage since I was about 14 and I did some novice level stuff with a horse I used to ride, and my pony is certainly not dressage friendly at all so its going to be interesting !!

Any tips greatly appreciated !! I think i will take some rescue remedy first and definately give her some blue chip kalma!! I would much rather go and jump round the xc course or go hunting

You haven't lost your mind Vick. I will turn to the dark side!!! I am doing a jumping clinic (OMG) so you can do a Dressage!!!

You and Woo will be fine!!!!
 
lets not get carried away now carthorse !!

the entries are very cheap for riding club members - so i even entered for the training day on the day before so i get 25 minutes help from the judge and then ride the test, and then again the day after ... i think i will be all dressaged out by that point !!!
 
If I managed to do it then you can, so don't be silly you will be fine. At least you have done it before. I had only ever done two tests before and they were in ODE's way over 10 years ago. Rescue remedy woo up!! You will prob win your first one you jammy bird!
