This is my irish draught cross gelding Finn. He is 3 in May. The side on pic isn't perfect and he is a little bum high at the moment. He's 16.2 at the wither. Any thoughts good or bad. I know what I think of him but I'm bias and he's a keeper:)

He's going to be big! He has a very nice front end. Is the ground uneven as his left front pastern/hoof axis looks slightly off, but I think it's the ground? He is a little straight through the hocks, but nothing major. Nice short cannon bones. Over all there is a lot to like!

Thankyou:) Yes the ground is uneven where he is stood but I will be having a look just to make sure. I daren't even guess on his finished height! he has grown pretty evenly until now. He has a lovely temperament. This was his first day with a roller on and he couldn't care less. He won't be backed until next year as he still has so much growing to do.

Nothing major to dislike. Couple of areas that could be better (back is a tiny bit long, shoulder could be a degree less upright) but what horse is perfect! I can imagine him looking a real picture once hes fully grown, working, muscled and smartened up!

I think he will mature into a smart horse. A bit straight behind and front Pasterns look a little off (but that could be the way he is stood).

Don't get tempted to rush him, it will be another 2 maybe 3 years before he is done. You are going to be pleased with him.

The pastern/foot angles want really keeping on top of as they will be supporting a lot of horse in the future.

Thankyou for your comments. He will not be rushed. I have all the time in the world for this lad. He is due the farrier soon so I will question his foot angle. He is a good remedial farrier and knows his stuff. All he is doing for now is getting used to long lines and possible bitting if he isn't going through any tooth changes. He will then be turned aeay again in May to think things over until this time next year. Basic handling will be kept on top of.

Hes v.nice !!

Confo is a lot like my id x tb they have exactly the same back end... except hers is 2 years more mature 😃

Certainly isn't anything I'd worry about !

He looks down on his pasterns and back at the knee. But he is in the raw and I am sure he will grow into a nice horse.

He isn't actually as bum high as he looks on that photo. The ground is uneven where his front feet are. He does still have a fair bit of growing to do though and this is the first time he has gone bum high since I got him at 6 months.

I really like him op! There is a lot to like
I echo about the pasterns but he's a still a baby with lots of maturing to do.

Good luck with with him op. I think hes going to look fantastic at 7/8 yrs
