hellooo!

well my internets been down for ages, and ive only just been able to get on!

in the time its been down, my mum has said i can get a horse in september, it will be my first horse, ive had loans and shares, but this will be my first OWN horse.
im really excited about it all.

i know what im looking for. and have been told hanflingers a good breed.

ill tell you what im looking for then tell me if you agree:

Height: something between 13.2 and 14.3
Age: 7-14
uses: hack out, do showing shows, pop the odd jump-nothing bigger than 2 foot. maybe some NH and really just bond with and enjoy.

i knw theres exceptions to each breed, or age. but do you think a haffi would suit me?

what experience do you have? how old are you"? lots of factors when choosing a horse. Haffies have a reputation for being strong and bloody minded. Yes, they're very pretty but looks alone shouldnt be the deciding factor.
Have you looked at New Forests?

Dont stick to one breed. You need to be looking for a first horse/family pony type and it could be any breed!

There are good and bad in all breeds!

If its your first horse then behaviour, temperament, soundness and experience is what you need to worry about.

and ive been riding since i was two, i have been around horses, helping at various yards, and my loans, since i was about 7.

i havnt looked at new forests yet, i had one on loan when i was younger, who was a little star...but i was thinking i would grow out of it quite quickly?

I agree Haffys are gorgeous (have one in my sig!) I know on the continent they are used for a lot of RDA so must be well behaved and I'm sure some would suit you. But I wouldn't restrict myself to one breed either, just look around and if something sounds suitable for other reasons go and see it regardless of breed. Also I don't think hafflingers are very common over here so you might struggle to find one. Prehaps welsh D's or connemaras might suit you aswell. And good luck searching, you must be very excited!
