first hunt

Ive been riding for 8 years and not hunted. I have 4 ponies, most unsuitable apart from my smallest.

What happens throughout hunting? I know the main bits can someone explain the whole thing?

Would my 12hh fit in? My friend took her 13hh pony. I'm not interested in it if its just big horses jumping five bar gates as my litten has had his first few jumps recently. Obviously I will jump him more before hunting.

Try the hunting forum. Hunts vary from area to area, some places are all about jumping hedges, some hardly jump, most have the option to not jump. Most hunts have a variety of horses and ponies so you shouldn't be out of place but your best bet is to contact the secretary of the hunt you want to join in on and they can tell you the most suitable meets to go to and all of the particular hunts etiquette and caps.
