First, I'm not the bravest hacker in the world (was hit by a car whilst on a horse as a teen ager and then this horse was terrible to hack out and I was worse and I've not improved much since...

So today I was being brave and plodded off down the lane to the bridle way (about 300 yards down a single track dead end road with 3 more properties on so hardly the M6)

All was well (even relaxed and pleasant) until we got back to about 150 yards from our properties gate when one of the neighbours dogs came out and chased Murph down the road snapping at his back legs... he bolted ... luckily into our property and I managed to pull him up and jump off... but needless to say I was a bit sh****d up. Bless the ponio tho'... he pulled up with no trouble once the dog had backed off... No bucks no bad manners even tho he was obviously scared...

I don't know what else to say to the neighbour but if it was a less sane horse with a less glued on rider the out come could have been very different :(

Aww bless ya hun! I'm not surprised your worried about hacking :(

Tell the neighbour her dog escaped and nearly caused a serious injury, both parties could have been badly hurt!

One of the guard dogs at the yard decided it was a good idea to chase Ollie this week and play chicken! Ollie nearly ended up on the YO's dog's head as a result as she wasn't controlling her dog and was in Ollie's field with him :(
