So over the last week or so my dad has turned out field shelter into a snazzy looking stable, couldn't even tell it was the same field shelter he didn't want it to look "Gypsyish" so spent ages crafting it ;):D

Tonight is Tessy's first night in and i am worried about the little sausage ! have already checked on her twice to make sure she hasn't broken out or darted round the orchard stuffing her piggy face... Both times she was eating her haynet and looked at me like " Mum go away you're not invited to this sleepover" I will feel better in the morning once i know she hasn't attempted the great escape ......

Please tell me this is normal and i have not gone into OTT horse woman mode ?:o

p.s will post some pictures tomorrow to show you all the handy work of my talented father :D

This is totally abnormal behaviour, you need help. Please post in the deranged horsewifie thread for various suggestions from unprofessional but wellmeaning idiots like myself. Alternatively open a bottle of red and chillax while watching horsey from behind a bush.

I have all of these mental images of our chilled cob launching herself out of the gate and running rampage round the plant nursery next door

Second option sounds like a fantastic plan :) Us weirdos need a good drink to keep us sane.

Kept my two yearlings in the first night we had snow before Xmas, was worried all night, but I can h ear anything going down in stables from house, next morning both standing looking totally unconcerned and walked calmly out. I was so pleased with them.

However, since then have left them out whatever the weather and just made sure there is water and hay in stables which they go in and out of at will, for me this is the better option because they can snuggle up together to keep warm!

I am sure all will be fine, and look forward to seeing pictures tomorrow!
