Well I entered the prelim as a warm up and 10 mmins before gonig in (when I got on they were running early and by the time it came to my time they were 10 mins late) he went deep so with the help of my friend decided to give him a loose walk then lots of transitions to get him back.

Went in to do my test and went the best he ever has thanks to mat_b my canter was perfect on the left rein. My friend who called was amazed with the changes in him in the last month

. So how disapointed was I to get 55% and come 4th from bottom. no comments on my sheet the judge put willing horse doing a nice test?

I wish if its not what they wanted they would give some comments. Even my husband was impressed normally tells me that I let him down

Then on to the Novice only did about 10 mins warm up as he was quite tired. Really pleased with the first half of the test trot work was nice and rhythmical I fluffed the counter canter (the judge has nicley comented on how I should have ridden it turned too early and made it very hard for him) so broke a little early. then on the right canter struck off early (never done that before!

and he ralised that it was wrong and tried to take off so missed the circle and could not stop so got error but this did me a favour as I managed to stop 3/4 of the way around. Picked up the correct canter and carried on did same mistake with the counter canter. my med trot did not really show as it was not a clear transition so did not look like I did any (got 5) and finished on a lovely free walk. Got 56 % very pleased

I was only 1 mark out of the 2 above me so very pleased. Just need to improve my downward transitions from canter as I sort of fell into a heap, lots of practice at home I think.

Big thanks to my friend for reading for me and staying to get my sheet!!

Thanks for reading

Well done, you & Ship did really well

The judge said afterwards that only 2 people in the whole class rode the 15m 1/2 circles correctly, so you were not alone! When you do N21 again you'll know exactly how to ride them.
Now you've got your first novice successfully done you can start planning some more
