first outing at a show

Ok people, please dont think I am being thick, but Gareth (12) is taking 15h Penny to a show in 2 weeks, it has a veteran class and racehorse class, he wants to enter.
He has nice tack and cream jods and blue jacket and a champion hat, and dark brown boots, anything else he should wear or use, I dont want him to be laughed at cos his mum not up with show etiquette!!! We can plat her and make her pretty, that wont take much doing she is so pretty anyway, what is expected in these classes, both are ridden classes.

That sounds good! Make sure that they are both clean and tidy! I would suggest that you use a discreet brown or black numnah - not saddle cloth. Also he could carry a show cane. Brow band can be coloured or plain leather - either is quite acceptable. Good luck!
