For my big homebred boy, Indigo Rambo! And first for me for 3 years (I don't have time nor inclination to hunt these days) - but I'm hoping Rambo will be my OH's new hunter, and local hunt is just down the road. So I can hack there - and one of the girls is bringing Trebor for HIS first day too!

This is Rambo - taken last year when he was still a stallion (his status changed last May:eek:)

I sure hope I don't have to get off for a gate because I'll never get back on again! (He's 17.1 - and BIG with it!)

You and rambo will probably both enjoy yourselves and meet a lot of new friends , let us all know how you both take to it . It's nice for your horse to meet others and having a good gallop too !! P.s , ENJOYYYYYYY and don't worry too much , there will be others on naughtier horses than you , I think that's a fact haha

We survived!! Bloody horse is a PITA - hacked 3 miles to the meet and had to kick him all the way - lazy sod. But BOY, didn't hounds etc do a LOT for his forward (and upward) movement! I wouldn't say I 'enjoyed' it - but saw lots of OLD friends (had a great vantage point!)

Didn't stay long - and he was good as gold on the way home. But he's FAR too wide for my geriatric hips - I ACHE!

I was there, but didn't see you - sorry, should say, if I did see you, didn't recognise you. Strangely enough you came up in conversation with one of your OLD friends - Mrs D on Suzuki - I don't think she'd seen you out at that point.

And yes, we did have a jolly good morning didn't we :D

If you mean me .... I was the one on the VERY big grey who spent a lot of time on his hind legs!:D

And found out tonight - someone had a fall later on (after I'd gone home). Her horse ran off and was found in a BIG field down the road with my 9 x 2 year olds - he'd jumped a solid timber gate to get in!

Yes JG, I do mean you - and no, I definitely didn't spot the very big grey on his hind legs - sadly - I'm sure that image would have stayed with me all day.

Oh dear, I haven't heard about the faller. No doubt I will find out who it was. Perhaps I'll see you this season if you're coming again.

He only went vertical while hanging around in the first field. The faller was a lady on a black and white gelding - not someone I knew - but then I'm a bit out-of-touch with my local hunt - as OH is Master of one a bit further west (mind you, I don't see much of them, either!) I MIGHT fit one more autumn hunting meet in with local pack - if my hips recover - bloody horse is SO broad it nearly finished my back off!
