We're fairly new to mushing, but my young GSP girls ran in their first mushing rally today. They've been to one before but not run - I decided for the first season just to take it easy to let us all get some experience. We entered the Recreational class, which is a non-timed training class. The course was only 2.5 miles, nice for a starter. They ran brilliantly, got all but one turn (and that was my fault), came in fresh and my onboard computer clocked us at an average speed of 14.2mph which I'm told is pretty good. I'm still buzzing and can't wait for day 2 tomorrow when we get to go again!
