On sunday I took Jazz (a yearling I purchased as a foal from Henryhorn) to hazelbury bryan horse show to give him some experiance before his first county show at Dorchester in a couple of weeks. He took about 20mins to load which suprised me not having practised at all, so we arrived about 45 mins early.
There were five in the class including a big warmblood mare and a lovely PRE andalucian stallion - the class was pot. competition horse 5yrs and under.
He walked round nicely and trotted out well helped by the fact that we were right next to the jumping ring
and we were pulled in second in the line up. Cue me nearly keeling over with shock as he was the youngest and smallest and I honestly didn't expect him to come anywhere.
Then the final walk round and he only went and won it!!
Judge commented on his lovely clean hocks and great legs and we got a big rossete, a stock and some prize money. To top it all he walked straight in the trailer on the way home
. Unfortunately no pictures on the day as I forgot my camera, There were photographers there but in the excitement I didn't pick up a card so if anyone has a web address...
I sneakily took some photos of him with his rossete when I fed this evening hence the partially plaited mane, will put some body shots in photo gallery.
So yes one exstactic owner and one very good pony fingers crossed for dorchester!
