Took Basil out on first ride today since he arrived yesterday with my friend. Looked a bit of an odd pair, me on 14.2 coloured (&hairy) cob, her on her 17.1 clipped eventer!

Basil was very good, he saw umbrellas, wagons, motorbikes & dogs & didnt even flinch. He wasnt too keen on the idea of crossing the stream but did eventually, something to work on there!

However his old owner had told me he did not like to go in front & you had to work hard to make him. Today however Basil led almost the entire way! fine by me! So that was a plus. Dont know if he'll get more lazy as he gets more used to his new home though.

Basil is very unfit so was quite tired & sweaty by the time we got home. need to do some fitness work!

Havn't ridden for that long since May, so feeling a bit sore now, but am looking forward to getting back into it.
