I have my first riding lesson in two years later this morning and am extremely nervous to find out what dreadful habits I've picked up! Reason I haven't had a lesson in so long is because I used to keep Fleur at the yard of my much beloved retired riding school teacher, but the last few years she's been very ill and so hasn't been able to teach me. I just hope I do her proud today, and also that the new teacher is hard on me without being nasty!

I had my first lesson in June, at a brand new yard, after 10years out of the saddle. My heels were a little high and my hands a little more open than they should be, but otherwise it was wonderful. Those problems all but disappeared very soon after. To be honest, I still get a bit nervous before lessons, but in an excitable way. I'm sure you'll have a great time and it'll be like you were never out of the saddle at all 80)

Thanks guys!

Lesson was amazing. I was a little too quiet and had stiff shoulders and Fleur was anxious and jumpy to start with, but after 10 minutes she was going beautifully. And the comments that made me really grin were of course about how sweet Fleur was and how she seemed to have lots of life in her for a 23 year old :)

Next time I might even inflict photos on you! OH had instructions to take piccies but spent all the time watching and completely forgot!
