Hi all, I have a 2 year old warmblood who will be going away next year for breaking etc. And I'm just looking at saddles, a friend at the yard said for her first saddle she had the fitter out and spent loads getting one that fitted, within less than 2 years it no longer fit and she had to sell for a fraction of what she paid. I just wondered what people tended to do? I want his first saddle to fit, and not cause issues etc, but don't want to be wasting money. I have a bates dressage (interchangeable gullet) on my other horse, should I use this? Or get a fitted one from day 1, or I've also seen a Barefoot Cheyenne Drytex saddle that is an affordable amount and as it's treeless it wouldn't cause pressure points etc whilst he's changing shape, then once he's fully grown and muscled etc I can get a proper dressage saddle fitted.
Any thoughts, hints etc appreciated..... what do others do for their babies first saddles?
