Little Jack & I have our first inhand show coming up..It's a practise one, I thought it a good idea to not throw us both in at the deep end :D

A friend of the family shows arabs and has been helping me with the technical stuff!

I need to know what to wear! Some people have said black trousers, shirt. Others have said breeches, boots, hat & tweed jacket?

Also, should he have a plain browband or a show one? (Only doing best youngster & possibly riding pony if he behaves himself!) Picture of him below (4 months ago now).

He is PBA, roan.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE :D & Also photos of inhand showers if you have some! :D :D

P.S I'm very excited! :D

You need Tweed jacket, blue or cream shirt with a tie and tie pin, cream trousers, smart boots/shoes that you can run in, a hat (as you are doing youngstock I would go with a navy velvet riding hat just for safety) with hair in a bun and hairnet, brown gloves and cane.

For him I would go for a velvet ribbon browband as he is very fine and that would be correct for the riding pony class.

Good luck

As above.... It is correct to wear light coloured trousers as your horse has dark legs, so when you trot up the judge can at a glance tell which legs belong to the horse.
Also please wear a riding hat if you have not shown Little Jack before.

Good luck Jack looks like a sweetie so should do well, most of all enjoy it and have fun.

I have lots of in hand showing pics but all with a welsh cob :O)

Sorry for the big picture not sure how to resize :O)

Thankyou :) Should I go for something like the typical TAGG green jacket or something abit more traditional?

Luckily I have put myself aside a showing fund as I knew I would need new stuff :D

Teresagarsden-what a gorgeous horsey, thanks for the pics!

What colours should the browband be? Typical red/blue/white or soemthing a bit more subtle?

I'm sorry for all the questions! I want to get it right first time and not have to keep buying stuff all season haha!

:D

For the browband I think red and gold looks good on a pretty head as the colour draws your eye.
But if the head looks a little plain then stick to black and gold its not as dramatic but adds some colour.
