(It's 11pm here so please forgive me for posting what I put up on FB. I am tired. )
What a fun day! Had an absolute blast at our first show of the season. All winter I've been saying that Cudo has come out of his 3+ month vacation raring to go. I was right. He was game on every step today. No spooks, stops or anything. All business and looking for the next fence every step of the way. We did 2 schooling classes, a 1.15m (3'9") and a 1.20m (3'11") class. I am thrilled to report that he was clean and fast in all the rounds. Better still we're getting it so that there's fluidity coming now and far less blips or mistakes.
I loved competing against my friends Anne Hambleton, Stephanie de Crevecoeur and RW Tull. It was fun to watch each other's rounds and horses as we're all starting up the year and will likely compete again somewhere in the regional calendar of shows.
Technically we won both classes but against these size fields, made up of friends, I promise I was far more excited for the positive experiences than the ribbons themselves.
Huge Kudos to Kimberton Hunt Club for jumping in and creating these classes when we requested them. I'm hopeful that more shows will continue to let us add a higher class/ division to help promote that there is a group of area riders that want and will attend shows that help us to get valuable experience closer to home.
As always John is such a star. He got some great pics with a really tricky course to ride and shoot. (Those will come later) He's thrilled but said he knew we would do well. Lol.
Cudo came home and was rewarded with 2 hours in the field full of grass that I've been resting since February. Heading out now to bring everyone in and bundle them up for the night.

Enjoy!
