As I haven't competed properly for about 13 years (!!) apart from a few clear rounds with my other horse Ollie before everything went horribly wrong with him, I was veeery nervous about competing the new mare.

Have only had her for a couple of weeks and only jumped her twice and the class was just a 95cm trailblazers, but she was the only one clear (despite me seeing a completely off stride to the last fence - ouch, I need to learn to ride again!) so she won it! I elected to do the jump off on my own just for the experience and managed to get a stop on the first fence as I struggle to get a proper canter on her in tight turns - I just need to learn to ride better and she is a very large 17hh and I am 5'3 and sometimes I think she doesn't really notice me up there... She jumped the rest fine though, she is so big and very experienced that she looks better over bigger fences.

She was so full of it, bucking loads in the warm-up - she loves being at shows! So grateful to have this lovely horse and have some fun being a horseowner again after all the set-backs me and my sister have had with our gelding.

Thanks for reading!
