Little cob and I went to our first pony party yesterday. It was only a local charity show.
It was my first show in over 2 years and his first show in nearly 3 years!
The day started with us in fits of giggles when I ended up pony skiing up the ramp of the lorry. Little cob was so excited about going somewhere that as soon as my husband dropped the ramp he set his neck and was up the ramp before I had time to think!
arrived at the show with plenty of time, but because the inhand classes were huge and the ridden classes were small my first 2 classes of the day clashed.
He won his inhand veteran class but I discovered that my ankle really doesnt like running up welshies on uneven hard ground.
We then did the ridden veteran class where he bounced his way round it, refused to walk at all, trot was more of a skip as all he wanted to canter the whole way. So unsurprisingly didn't place very well.
He had a 3 hour wait then for his next ridden class so back to the box and tucking into his haynet! at one point he was asleep in the sun quite happy and content.
Ridden new combination he had calmed down a bit and did a lovely show to come 1st out of 6.
Ridden M&M was straight after and he got a 2nd after doing a lovely show again.
We didn't do the championship as I felt he had done more than enough!
