Well it's time for me to try something else, my OH has given me the green light ;) and says I will cope. Going three times next week as well, to my knowledge my boy has not hunted before so it will be good for us both.

Will let you all know how it goes.

You really haven't got a clue have you. Instead of swallowing the propaganda from the HSA why don't you actually try to educate yourself with some proper information.

Autumn hunting or cubbing is where the adolescent, fully independent but juvenile foxes would have been dispersed from the coverts. The numbers were thinned out and the young hounds would be trained what not to chase.

Post-Ban the trail setting and flushing exemptions allow us to replicate the scenario of autumn hunting without breaking the law.

They shouldn't, so long as the hunts are operating within the ban.

We hunt the clean boot. Not all hunts have a fox's scent as their folly. We "chase" a fell runner with the bloodhounds. :))))

It depends what exemption is being used - some packs flush to a gun, others flush to a bird of prey. In both cases foxes will be killed. Nothing illegal in what they are doing.

Post-Ban research has suggested that more foxes are being killed in far worse ways as landowners seek an alternative to the hunt. Bet the antis are really proud of themselves.

What a great day, my boy was just perfect you would think he had done it all his life. We arrived and tacked up in sight of the hounds and he just stood and looked at them, in no time at all we were off at a very quick pace from the start.

Caffrey was not too strong and looked after me well, lots of nice long canters on good ground. Got a couple of pics but only from a phone.
