Ok, so I haven't the first clue about pure dressage having only done it at ODEs. Therefore, I would usually go by the size of the jumps than the dressage test and just learn whatever I have to!

I am looking at doing some local unaffiliated dressage and I have no idea at what level I would be! I have the options of:
a) prelim
b) nov/elim

Thank you! (Also in CR)

prelim if its your first ever one.levels go in the following order
Prelim
Novice
Elementary
medium
Advanced medium
Advanced
Hope this helps

Depends on your horses level of schooling, most should be capable of prelim / novice though

Basic overview!

Prelim- walk, trot, canter, do some circles, occassionally 3 loop serpentines or slightly more adventurous shapes, changes of rein etc. Halt at end, nothing very complicated.

Novice- Start doing some medium trot, sometimes counter canter, occassionally rein back.

Elementary- Introduce shoulder in, canter walk canter transitions, walk pirouettes, think there is leg yield in some tests?

Hope this helps.
