I had the chance to go out for the first time today! Pretty chilled so a great intro - for both me and the pony I temporarily stole from an innocent 9 year old boy muahaha - and I'm looking forward to November time when m back around and it's all go! Ahhh! Dressing up is very fun I felt like a 4 year old with a dressing up box last night borrowing kit from friend who took me out!

I'm running away to America for a bit - I wonder if I can get myself involved in a day or two there?! Anyone know of somewhere around Boston or Pittsburgh that I could rock up to? (minus horse of course.. I'd have to hire if that's possible)

Hope these two links will help with finding places to go hunt.
If you get a chance to make a side trip a little further south, Virginia has a large number of hunts to choose from.

Enjoy.

I was lucky enough to be able to go out with the Middleburg Hunt, Virginia, and all were very friendly and welcoming, had two lovely days out. Very hilly and lots of 'coups' to jump. I had a fabulous time.

But if you want to work with either of these definitions:

1.
a highly successful, unexpected stroke, act, or move; a clever action or accomplishment.

2.
(among the Plains Indians of North America) a brave or reckless deed performed in battle by a single warrior, as touching or striking an enemy warrior without sustaining injury oneself

it does make a lot more sense! You could, potentially, perform a coup jumping a coop.

;)

Okay, I'm going back to CR now. :)

If you are in Boston one of the closest hunts will be the Green Mountain Hounds in Vermont

www.greenmountainhounds.com

I suggest you have a good look at their Website. Hunting in the States is not a question of where you can just "rock up" as you put it.

You should go through all the protocols of enquiring whether you MAY have a day or two and where you can secure a hireling.

That said, if you follow the instructions on hunt Websites, normally you will find them very friendly and welcoming.
