Just had my JW "Pessoa" delivered and am planning to give it a go tonight... what do I need to watch out for? Will be careful with the bum thingy, just in case he spooks, any tips would be gratefully eaten up, ta.
When first using the pessoa I fit them in the stable and then remove the bum strap until Im in the arena just in case. Make sure you keep your sessions very short, just a few minutes to start off with as its quite demanding.
they do tend to leap about abit to start with, or try and sit down- whilst they get used to the cord round the bum.Tip-
JUst make sure you cross over the bit connectors over the withers to criss cross so they dont dangle(whilst your warming up) I found that if you just hook them on the sides they get to long so crossing them over the wither onto the clip on opposite sides stops this happening. Obv put them back normally so start- does that even make sense- its so hard to explain
I love my pessoa- it has really changed my horses shape and way of working good luck

Or pull the cord through the pulley and tie in an overhand knot by the roller (basically pull through the pulley towards the bit with the clips both on same side of roller, then tie in a knot as stops it slipping back through pulley and creating a huge loop) - I keep mine like that as stops it turning into a spiders web....
just looked at the piccies on the bag and thought yeah easy, maybe not??? I feel that horsey will look like a bad crochet job tonight! How long for first time, 5 mins each side? He does need it - look at siggy bless (talk about neck stuck on!) lol.
