Well got tow bar on my little lorry, got the caravan for 2014 seasons tournaments, booked myself tow lessons, first one was a disaster, I crushed 4 cones, swear I had never reversed in my 35 years of driving! Instructor assured me I will "get it" eventually,
Have 3 more lessons booked( 20 years since I last towed anything) only good thing is its not hard to move caravan onto tow bar to hitch and unhitched!!!
Onwards and upwards eh!

Hi. Practice, practice, practice. I have a licence old enough not have to take the trailer test! I started towing last year and now am quite confident. The trailer I use lives in a locked barn (when not in use) and I have to reverse it in when I'm finished using it. It used to take me sometimes half an hour to put it away, now I normally get it away in about 5-10 mins and that includes reversing, un hitching and locking up! So I am living proof it gets easier. My advice is do not panic, take your time and practice as much as u can. Good luck.

I'm lucky in that when I first got the trailer, supermarkets were still closed all day on Sundays. I used an empty Asda car park to practice, practice and then practice some more! It does get a lot easier.

Have you got anywhere that you can practice in between lessons?

Thanks ROG, shame I am in north Wales! Good idea about finding somewhere with empty car park, not far away is a supermarket that closed down with huge empty car park.. Guess where I will be going next week to practice!
